ADVENTURES IN MUSIC COURSES
A vibrant, and varied music course featuring two of England’s most innovative, and versatile folk musicians is taking place at Hamilton Hall, Tetbury, Lincolnshire on the 9th and 10th September.
Acclaimed Accordionist Karen Tweed, of Swap, and The Poozies fame, and renowned Fiddle player Roger Wilson, of Wood, Wilson, and Carthy will be teaching people how to play their respective instruments with a view to inspiring budding musicians, and helping them to develop their full potential.
Organised by Karen’s newly formed company, Adventures in Music, participants will be encouraged to listen, perform, improvise, and compose. People of all levels of ability from beginners, to virtuoso, will be warmly welcomed, and are encouraged to bring recording facilities, instruments, and manuscript papers with them.
While the emphasis will be placed upon repertoire, style, technique, and performance, students will equally be encouraged to be creative, and to develop as an original musician, composer, and arranger.
Most importantly the intention is to learn in a fun, and relaxed environment, with a view to developing your new found skills, and enhancing your ability. Who knows, maybe one day you too could be gracing National, and International stages, and teaching a master class of your very own.
This diverse two day course costs a mere £75 (Scholarships are available) and includes entry to a concert by Roger and Karen at Tetford church on Friday 8th September.. A Ceilidh will also be held on Saturday 9th September at the Hamilton Hall, featuring the Riverhead Ranters, and will be followed by a session in a local pub.
