SCINTILATING SWÅP’S FINAL TOUR WITH TWEED

Vibrant and upbeat Anglo-Scandinavian Folk legends Swåp will be playing their final tour with renowned Accordionist Karen Tweed throughout October.

Formed in the mid 1990’s Swåp have a unique approach to traditional tunes, and a fine back catalogue of exuberant, and haunting original compositions.

This uniqueness has won them scores of fans internationally over the past ten years, and has seen them nominated by BBC Radio 2 as the “Best Group” in their Annual Folk awards.

A combination of four very talented individuals uniting for the greater good, the end result is a sumptuous musical banquet.

Karen Tweed’s mesmerising, yet rhythmic accordion lines, and Ian Carr’s solid, yet off kilter guitar work underpins the meandering, yet cleverly interwoven fiddle playing of Carina Normansson, and Ole Backstrom to create a feast of fine, and often frantic folk.

Add to this Carina’s delightful and swooping vocals the whole effect leaves you wanting second helpings of this Swedish inspired musical smorgasbord.

From wonderful waltzes, to polyphonic polka’s, and raucous reels, Swåp are a dynamic, and a diverse musical phenomenon, guaranteed to have you grinning from ear to ear.

Creative, energetic, humorous, and yet soulful people, this is one band who really know how to lift your spirits.

Billed as the “Du-Da” tour it has all of the right ingredients to suggest a series of concerts to savour, and remember.

So roll up, roll up, as for one final tour with M/S Tweed the delightful Swåp will be performing for your delectation, without the aid of a safety net some of the most exhilarating, exciting, entertaining, and downright lovely and beguiling music on this planet, and you really should be there to witness it.
